Aspen flower essence is traditionally chosen for vague, unexplained fears and feelings of apprehension that have no identifiable cause. People who benefit from Aspen may have an uneasy sense that something is wrong or that something unpleasant is going to happen without being able to explain why. They can also be particularly sensitive to their surroundings and strongly affected by an atmosphere or feeling they cannot quite put into words.
Indications that Aspen may be needed
- Feeling afraid or uneasy without knowing why
- A vague sense of foreboding or that something bad may happen
- Sudden apprehension with no obvious cause
- Being particularly sensitive to the atmosphere around you
- Waking frightened during the night without knowing what you are afraid of
- Experiencing nightmares or feeling afraid to return to sleep
- Physical sensations of fear such as trembling, goosebumps, sweating or a fluttery feeling in the stomach
- Finding it difficult to talk about your fears because they are hard to explain
When Aspen may be the right choice
You may find yourself unsettled by feelings you cannot put into words. Rather than being afraid of something specific, you may experience a sense of unease or foreboding that can range from subtle apprehension to much stronger fear.
You may also be especially sensitive to your surroundings, becoming uncomfortable in a tense environment or strongly affected by the mood or atmosphere around you. At other times, these feelings may arise during the night, perhaps through disturbing dreams or waking suddenly feeling frightened.
Aspen and similar flower essences
Several flower essences from the Bach system can be associated with fear or anxiety but the nature of the fear helps distinguish between them.
Aspen and Mimulus
Both are associated with fear but with Aspen there may be no clear reason for feeling afraid or uneasy. Mimulus is more appropriate when the source of the fear can be identified such as fear of flying, illness, animals or a particular situation.
Aspen and Rock Rose
Both may involve strong feelings of fear. Aspen is associated with vague apprehension or a sense that something may be wrong without knowing why. Rock Rose is traditionally associated with acute terror or panic when the fear feels immediate and overwhelming.
Aspen and Red Chestnut
Both can involve heightened sensitivity and anxiety. With Aspen, the uneasiness may seem to arise without an identifiable cause. Red Chestnut is associated more specifically with excessive fear or worry about the safety and wellbeing of other people.
The positive potential of Aspen
With greater inner confidence, apprehension can give way to a stronger sense of security and trust. Sensitivity remains but it no longer needs to be accompanied by fear.
It becomes easier to face uncertainty without being overwhelmed by what might happen. There is a greater sense of feeling grounded and secure, with confidence in your ability to face the unknown.
How to Use
This is a stock level essence that can be taken directly or combined with up to 6 other essences in a treatment bottle. If you'd prefer your chosen essences prepared for you, you can order a custom blend here.
When taking from the stock bottle, the recommended dosage is 4 drops at least 4 times a day, especially in the morning and before bedtime. For acute situations, you may take the essence more frequently.
Alternatively, for a more gentle effect you can add 4 drops to a glass of water to sip throughout the day. You can combine up to 7 essences using this method.
